Take it to the next level
The Bundaberg Representative Program provides players with the opportunity to play basketball at the next level of competition by representing Bundaberg Basketball in the CQJBC’s (Central QLD Junior Basketball Comp) and State Championships.
-
Receive ongoing intensive coaching over a six-month period.
-
Develop life skills, make friends and develop social networks through representative basketball.
-
Access pathways to higher levels of representative basketball.
How to get involved
All registered Bundaberg Basketball juniors players will be invited to rep try outs by email.
Interested parents must register their player for the trials, which typically are over two to four sessions with coaches and assistant coaches.
Teams are generally 10 players, with additional teams created dependant on coach availability and player interest.
Commitment
Representing Bundaberg Basketball is a big commitment by both players and their parents.
Players are required to attend two dedicated training sessions each week, and additional games when required.
Parents are also required to volunteer during the Bundaberg carnival of the age group proceeding their season.
During each of the three carnivals, parents are required to score at least one game. We strongly encourage parents to practice scoring during Friday night games.
Official Scoretable Training is available through Basketball Queensland. Find out more here.
Carnivals are held in Rockhampton, Gladstone or Hervey Bay and Bundaberg. State Championships are held at various locations across Queensland, including Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
There is also a financial commitment, which can be reduced by sponsorship or fundraising of the individual teams. More will be explained at the first parent meeting of the selected team.
